Create a Youform
Youform provides an intuitive form builder experience. If you just click the "New Form" button on your dashboard and start looking at the UI, you can just start building a form without any guides.
Once you click the New Form button a modal opens which asks you to select a template. You can search a template by typing on the search box.
Alternatively, you can also start from scratch by clicking on the first blank form button.
If you have a Typeform link you can import it from "import from Typeform" button
Builder structure
It is really helpful to understand the builder structure to get started with Youform.
Basically the builder is divided into three parts: left, middle, and right.
The left panel is see all the questions of your form.
The middle panel is for detailed view of particular selected question.
The right panel is to edit the currently selected question block.
Whatever you see in the middle section is editable, but all the editing happens from the either right block or from the design tab (which you can find at the top beside the build button).

Adding a new block
Adding a block is easy, just click the "+" button to add a new block
This will open the block selection modal. You can search for your block. Preview it and then use it in your form.
You can double click a block to directly add into your form without previewing
Deleting a block
You can delete any block from the left side panel. Just hover over any of the question blocks, and a menu icon will appear. Click on that to open the context menu with delete and duplicate block options. You can also right-click on any block in the left panel to open the context panel.
Form design
Youform provides lots of tools to make the form design according to your taste and your brand identity.
Inside of the form builder, you will see the Design button on the top. When you click on that, the design view will appear on the right side of the screen.
You will see various color options that you can add. You can even select a theme from our selected designer theme gallery, or you can select a theme from your previously created forms, so that you don't have to repeat the form design for every form that you create.
You can also add your logo, add a background image, and your custom font.
There are also option to select different round shapes for buttons and even change the font size of the form.
Adding a cover image in a block
Apart from the background image of the form which remains the same for all the blocks across your form, you can optionally add a cover image for an individual block as well. Just select the block that you need to edit from the left panel of the builder. Then on the right side, scroll down to see the Cover Image option. Once you add an image, you will see three types of options:
Stack where the image is at the top of your question
Split where the image will be side-by-side of the question you can also position as a left or right
Wallpaper: which will be basically nothing but the background image specific for the selected block. So regardless if you have a background image for your entire form or not, this block will can have a wallpaper or background image if you just select for this block.
Make your form smart
Youform provides several features to make your forms smart. You can add logic (to skip/jump questions based on user's answer), add answer recall by referencing the user's answer in your form, hidden fields and calculations. Let's find out below:
Logic
Adding logic to your form is pretty simple thanks to Youform's intuitive logic builder.
Answer recall
You can reference a user's answer by adding @ in your question title or description.
Hidden Fields
You can add hidden fields in your forms like UTM parameters or some other fields like email etc which you already know and want to pass in your form. You can also add Variables and use them in your form logic. For this go to your Form → Settings → Hidden fields & Variables
Integrations
You can add Google Sheets, Slack, Webhook, Google Tag Manager or 6000+ other apps using Zapier to your Forms. For this go to Form → Integrate → Connect the app you want.
Publish & Share
Once you are ready with your form you can hit the publish button on the top right.
You can then share your form using:
Full page link: Youform link or your own using custom domain feature
Embed in your website: Full page, inline or popup
After publish you will be shown the options to share but you can always go to your Form → Share tab to see all the sharing options. You can directly share from there to various social platforms or even get a QR code for your form as well.
