Advanced design: fine-tune width, cards, fonts, inputs, choices and buttons

The Advanced tab in the Design panel gives you fine control over how your form looks: content width, a card behind each question, separate fonts for titles and question labels, and the fill, text, corners and spacing of answer boxes, answer choices and buttons. It is available on all plans. The Basic tab keeps the quick options: theme, colors, font, corners, background image and logo.

Open the Advanced tab

1. Open your form in the builder.

2. Click Design in the top navigation.

3. Click the Advanced tab at the top of the panel.

Changes preview live in the builder. Click Save to apply them to your published form right away, or Discard to throw them away. Every setting is optional: anything you leave untouched keeps the look your form has today.

Form

Use the Form section to set how wide the content is and whether each question sits in a card.

• Width: choose Narrow, Default or Wide, or type an Exact width in pixels. Phones always use the full screen width.

• Show questions in a card: puts each question in a box with its own Card color, Corner radius and Background blur. Blur gives a frosted-glass effect and only shows over a background image.

• Spacing: side padding, top and bottom padding, the gap between questions on a multi-question page, and the gap between columns when questions are side by side.

Typography

Titles and question labels are styled separately, so a bold display font on your welcome screen does not have to carry through to every question.

• Text size and Description size set the base size for all text and for the helper text under a title or question.

• Titles covers welcome screens, statement blocks, thank-you pages and page titles. Labels covers question text.

• For each, pick a font, size, weight, letter spacing and alignment. Blocks with their own alignment keep it.

Inputs

Inputs are the boxes respondents type into: short and long text, email, phone, number, date, contact and address.

• Appearance: Underline shows a line under the answer, Box wraps it in a full outlined box.

• Fill and Text set the background and typed-text colors, with an opacity slider on the fill.

• Corner radius, horizontal and vertical padding, and the gap between the question text and its answer box.

Choices

Choices are the clickable answers in multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown options, ranking, matrix and rating scales. Set their Fill, Text color and Corner radius. Action buttons are styled in the next section, not here.

Buttons

Buttons are the Next, Submit and thank-you buttons. Fill and text colors are shared with the Basic tab, so changing them here changes them there too.

• Corner radius, Text size and Text weight.

• Alignment: left, centre or right. Auto follows the alignment set on the Basic tab.

• Submit icon: no icon, a check mark or an arrow on the Submit button.

• Horizontal and vertical padding inside the button, and the space between the last question and the button.

Undo a section

Each section shows a dot when it has custom values. Open the section and click Reset at the bottom to clear every setting in that section and go back to the default look. Other sections are not affected.
