Understand response counts on your Forms dashboard
Updated today
The response count on your Forms dashboard counts completed responses only. Partial submissions are counted and labeled separately, so the number next to a form is not the total of everyone who started filling it in.
Completed responses vs partial submissions
A completed response is someone who filled in your form and submitted it. A partial submission is someone who started filling it in but did not finish. Each form on the dashboard shows its number of completed responses. A form that has only partial submissions shows that count as "N partial" instead.
The partial count matches what you see in Submissions. To get notified when a partial submission comes in, see How to receive notification for partial submissions?
Switch between List and Grid views
Grid shows each form as a card. List shows your forms in a table with views, completion, and update details at a glance.
Open the Forms dashboard.
Click the List or Grid toggle at the top of the dashboard.
Your choice is remembered in the browser you switched in, so the dashboard opens the same way next time from that browser.
What the list columns show
In List view, each row shows these columns:
Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
Views | The number of views the form gets |
Responses | The number of completed responses |
Partial | The number of partial responses, counted separately from completed responses |
Completion | The percentage of users who submit the form after starting to fill it in |
Updated | When the form was last updated |
What the "N new" badge means
The "N new" badge on a form counts the completed responses that arrived since you last opened that form's submissions page. Partial submissions are not counted in the badge.
To review the new responses, open the form from the dashboard and go to its submissions page. Responses that arrive after that visit are the next ones the badge counts.
