Do not collect passwords in forms
For security reasons, Youform does not recommend collecting passwords, login credentials, or secret keys through forms.
This includes:
Social media passwords
Email or admin logins
API keys or private tokens
Even with good intent, collecting credentials via forms is unsafe and high-risk.
What to Do Instead
1οΈβ£ Use Platform Access Roles (Recommended)
Most platforms allow users to grant access without sharing passwords.
Example:
Facebook β Add as Admin / Manager
Instagram / Meta Business Manager β Role-based access
Google, Shopify, SaaS tools β Invite collaborators
2οΈβ£ Use a Password Manager (If Unavoidable)
If credentials must be shared, opt for a secure password manager instead of a form:
LastPass
1Password
Bitwarden
Restrictions on Forms Requesting Passwords
To prevent phishing and fraud, Youform may warn, limit, or block forms and even accounts that collect credentials.
TL;DR:
Don't collect passwords in forms.
Use access roles or password managers instead.
