How to add multiple languages in Youform?

Multilingual support is available in Youform Pro only. However, if you need to have your form in a language other than English, you can simply change the default language in the free plan as well.

We’ve added a huge range of languages to Youform, so now you can pick from:
Bulgaria Flag Bulgarian, White Flag Catalan, China Flag Chinese (Simplified), Taiwan Flag Chinese (Traditional), Croatia Flag Croatian, Czechia Flag Czech, Denmark Flag Danish, Netherlands Flag Dutch, United States Flag English, Estonia Flag Estonian, Philippines Flag Filipino, Finland Flag Finnish, France Flag French, Germany Flag German, Greece Flag Greek, India Flag Hindi, Indonesia Flag Indonesian, Italy Flag Italian, Japan Flag Japanese, South Korea Flag Korean, Poland Flag Polish, Portugal Flag Portuguese, Brazil Flag Portuguese (Brazil), Romania Flag Romanian, Russia Flag Russian, Slovakia Flag Slovak, Slovenia Flag Slovenian, Spain Flag Spanish, Mexico Flag Spanish (Mexico), Sweden Flag Swedish, Thailand Flag Thai, Turkey Flag Turkish, Ukraine Flag Ukrainian, Vietnam Flag Vietnamese

To add multiple languages to your form, follow these steps:

Navigate to your form and access the Settings page.
On the left side, select the Language option to reach the language settings page.
Here, you can start adding all the languages you need.
Once added, you will see a list of languages with their status marked as "Translation needed".

There are two translation options available:
  • AI Translation: Selecting this sends the form structure (not submission data) to third-party software for translation.
  • Manual Translation:
Click to open a pop-up where you can download a CSV template.
Open the CSV with a spreadsheet viewer like Google Sheets.
Edit only the third column, which pertains to your language. Do not alter the first two columns or remove any empty lines.
After editing, download the CSV and return to YouForm.
Upload the updated CSV to apply the translations.

Testing Your Multilingual Form

After completing all the translations, you can publish your form and open it to test. Upon first opening, it will prompt you to select your language. After selection:
  • The form will display in your chosen language.
  • If a language is selected by mistake, it can be changed via the dropdown at the top right.

Light Bulb Incorrect translations when using AI

Please note that when if you try AI translations, it is better to test all the languages that you have added because the AI sometimes might mess up. In that case, we suggest you to go for the hybrid approach:
    Do the AI translation
Download the template via "Manual Translation" button
    Correct language messages
Upload it using the manual translation button
